Les Hawks ont survolé la partie face aux Saints

Pas de changement en tête du classement après cette 7ème journée puisque les 3 leaders ont connu les joies de la victoire. Port Adelaide a logiquement dominé les Giants du Greater Western Sydney (132-97), les Hawks de Hawthorn ont atomisé les Saints de Saint Kilda (175-30) et les Cats de Geelong ont pris l'ascendant de justesse face à une accrocheuse équipe de Richmond (81-76).
Dans les autres rencontres, Collingwood a effectué une promenade de santé pour s'imposer face à Carlton, un de leurs rivaux historiques de la ligue (104-70), les Suns guidés par un indomptable Gary Ablett Jr ont encore gagné, cette fois face à la redoutable équipe des Kangaroos de North Melbourne (120-77) et les Dockers de Frematnle se sont relancés en remportant le derby de Perth face aux West Coast Eagles (73-54). On note aussi la deuxième victoire de la saison des Demons de Melbourne qui ont créé la surprise en gagnant à Adelaide chez les Crows (70-67), l'écrasante victoire des Swans de Sydney à Brisbane (123-44) et celle plus étriquée des Bombers d'Essendon face aux Western Bulldogs (73-65).
Tous ces résultats prouvent semaine après semaine que le championnat s'annonce plus serré que prévu et que la lutte pour les places en phase finale seront très, très disputées.
